Summer’s last hurrah…

Looking back at one last celebration before we close the chapter on Summer; tomorrow is the first day of Fall 2020!

The last weekend before school started (sort of/virtually) we headed to South Haven, Michigan with a group of our best friends and family. The occasion was my 50th birthday celebration, but no excuse was needed for a day of fun in the sun. We checked in on Friday night at The Fields of Michigan (the most fabulous Glamping location, see previous post.) Saturday morning we headed off for a leisurely cruise down the Kankakee River, with breakfast sandwiches The Fields packed for us in hand. After the retro boat ride, we were off to Oval Beach, where The Fields had set up a picnic for us!

Staying at The Fields of Michigan goes above and beyond the Glamping experience. The owner Irene arranged for this picnic on the beach- she even sat in her car and saved us a parking spot! They picked up sandwiches and snacks from a restaurant in town, and set out blankets and pillows under an umbrella.

The kids spent the afternoon swimming, while the adults relaxed and soaked up the final rays of summer.

Come back for Part Two of our Glamping Adventure at The Fields of Michigan, the big 50th birthday soiree!
